This torii stands in a contemplation area on the grounds of the Humboldt Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Michael Hackett built it in Colorado as a gift for his wife, Terry Uyeki, and it followed the couple to the North Coast when they relocated in 2006. After Hackett's death, Uyeki donated it to the fellowship, whose members repaired fourteen years of weather and insect damage and raised it — in the spirit of a barn-raising — for its dedication in August 2018.
