This torii was erected in 1932 at Hawaii Kotohira Jinsha, founded in 1920. U.S. Government officers seized the shrine in 1948 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, but the shrine sued for its property and won its return in 1950. The torii was repositioned in 1962 as the grounds were reorganized to make way for Lunalilo Highway.
