A pair of torii marking the entry to the Japanese Gardens within the New Hanover County Arboretum. Assembled from wood originally used for telephone poles. While the kasagi are carved with notches to suggest the silhouette of separate kasagi and shimaki, they are each a single piece, making these torii technically members of the shinmei family according to the rules of this catalog.
