This white torii stands at the entrance to the Wakamiya Inari Shrine in Hawaii's Plantation Village. The shrine was built in 1914 in Kakaʻako and moved to Honolulu's South King Street in 1918; when the land under it was sold in 1979, preservationists saved it from demolition and trucked it to Waipahu at midnight, cutting off its roof to clear the bridges along the way. It is listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places.
